Oil and sand on canvas
2004: The Second Gulf War in Iraq had begun one year before we made this recording, and we started to see what war was doing to civilians. As a result of a bombing in a city, I saw this photo of a wounded girl (10 years old?) in the arms of her father. Moved, and at the same time unable to express my wrath, I created an oil painting of this image, cut it into pieces and then disorderly reassembled it on another canvas. The image was too strong to be seen in its entirety.
